“A sleek professional act whose pace, emphasis, and rhythm of his delivery is spot-on. A rock-solid act guaranteed to entertain.”
That’s how Chortle, the comedy bible website, described Pete Jonas, one of Australia’s leading comedians, who plays The Comedy Club at Cuba* on Friday November 28.
In 2001 Pete moved from Melbourne to London to continue what was becoming a promising marketing career.
Instead he found himself unable to contain the increasing number of wisecracks in his head. He felt compelled to say a thing or two about the unquestioning levels of service, the ‘stunning’ weather, and northern Europe’s capacity for drinking. A rising star of comedy was born.
Pete’s debut Edinburgh stand-up show in 2006, Bokeback Britain, received five star reviews and the Official Fringe Sell Out Award.
Support is from Ross Brown and Jimmy Hayes. Gerry Mallon is the MC. Tickets are available in advance at Bar 903, The Cellar Bar, and at the door which opens at 8.30pm.
