Hugh Leonard’s Da at Town Hall

HUGH LEONARD’S brilliant and much loved comedy Da will be performed at the Town Hall Theatre by Galway’s Tungsten Theatre Company from April 10 to 14.

Da, a semi-autobiographical play set in sixties Dublin, explores the relationship between Charlie, a successful playwright, and his adoptive father.

Following his father’s funeral, as Charlie sorts through his things, he is visited by Da’s ghost, who stubbornly refuses to leave the house or his son’s mind. As Charlie revisits his past, we get to share in the tender, frustrating and very funny moments that defined the complex relationship between father and son.

The cast includes Knocknacarra man Michael Rooney, Geraldine Holmes, John McHugh, and Mary McHugh.

The play’s opening night, Tuesday April 10, will be a Gala Charity Performance in aid of local heart and stroke charity, Croí, with all funds raised directly supporting heart and stroke care programmes in Galway.

Tickets for the Gala Croí evening which include a pre-show drinks reception at 7pm, are €15 each and are available directly from the Town Hall Theatre. For all booking enquiries call 091 - 569777 or see www.tht.ie
