Leading academic and theologian to speak on the Gospels in Galway

Richard Bauckham, one of the world leading New Testament scholars and Professor Emeritus at St Andrews University, will be speaking in Galway tonight.

Prof Bauckham will be speaking in the Pillo Hotel, Headford Road, this evening at 8pm in a meeting organised by the Galway Interfaith Alliance. His talk will seek to argue that the Gospels are authentic accounts of Jesus’ life and contain solid eyewitness information.

Richard Bauckham is also a senior scholar at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, where he teaches at the Cambridge Federation of Theological Colleges. In 2009 he was awarded the Michael Ramsey prize for his book Jesus and the Eyewitnesses, and in 2010 he received the Franz-Delitzsch-Award for a volume of collected essays, The Jewish World around the New Testament. He also writes poetry and children’s story books.
