This will be celebrated over the Easter weekend, April 6 to 9. It is a pretty ambitious project and involves cooking demos in the festival tent, foodie talks at the Galway City Museum, and food tastings all over town. Even if you have only the tiniest interest in food you really need to visit www.galwayfoodfestival.com To give you an idea of how wide ranging the events are, the headings include pizza making for kids, cooking with seaweed, foraging, how to cook the perfect steak, soda bread making classes, eating a hog from nose to tail, farm visits, vegan cooking demo, gluten free baking class, wine classes, seafood tasting, free range farming, food blogging, meeting various producers, and tons more. There will also be loads of street entertainment, so something for everyone.
Admission to all events is free unless stated specifically on the website.
