How to generate publicity for your business through social media

Local businesses have been invited to a free seminar outlining methods of generating publicity through social media and emerging technologies.

Organised by Six Degrees, ‘Getting Your Business Noticed!’ will take place on Wednesday March 28 at the Business Innovation Centre in NUIG.

The seminar, run in association with CMS Developer Wiccle, will focus on areas such as engagement online, choosing the right social media channels, latest trends as well as SEO and PPC campaigns for websites. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their own social media and online presence in an informal and engaging session.

Keith Killilea, CEO of Wiccle, will discuss methods by which site owners on a limited budget can increase their presence in search engines. He will also look at how web technologies are transforming and what this will mean for business owners wanting to promote themselves online.

Eric Hennelly Flanagan, Founder of Six Degrees, will discuss what makes some businesses succeed whilst others fail in their approach to Social Media in the overall context of their marketing strategy.

The event will aim to help local business owners get the most from their social media marketing and will offer some practical hints and tips. There will be plenty of open discussion and Q&A throughout the day.

The event is free to attend and would be particularly beneficial to small enterprises, start-ups and those who are looking to set up a business. Further information is available from Six Degrees on 091587700 by emailing [email protected] or by visiting their website on www.sixdegrees.ie
