BlueTeapots to go green for St Patrick’s Day

‘The wearing of the green’ is a traditional way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day, but Blue Teapot Theatre Company will be taking a different approach to ‘being green’ for Saturday’s parade.

The theme for this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade is Green and Blue Teapot’s entry will be called ‘Peace is Green’ directed by Petal Pilley, a former member of Macnas, and Footsbarn Travelling Theatre Company.

‘Peace is Green’ will see Blue Teapot actors styled as Rainbow Cleaners, cleaning up the world, one bin bag at a time, and taking on such foes as King Litter and Toxic Waste.

This year Ulster Bank has partnered with the Galway Lions Club to support Blue Teapot’s entry. Their gesture has enabled Blue Teapot to provide a professional spectacle for the members of the programmes and to the Galway community.
