A Murder of Crows - a play for children

THE BROTHERS Grimm’s Hansel and Gretel will receive a theatrical interpretation in Barnstorm Theatre Company’s A Murder Of Crows.

The play is for children aged between eight and 12 and will be performed in the Town Hall Theatre on Monday March 26 and Tuesday 27 at 10am and 12.15pm.

The girl and boy in A Murder Of Crows are fledglings pushed out of the nest, trying to survive in a harsh world. Their journey is one of growth towards self-reliance and self-confidence in taking control of their own destinies.

The story is told from the perspective of a chorus of boisterous crows who cast a cold eye on the children’s plight while their squabbling antics bring a comic element to the play.

In the play the actors morph between crow and human form through the work of costume designers Harmless Creatures. The play is written by Mike Kenny, in collaboration with Barnstorm.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
