THIS MUST Be The Place, the English language debut of director Paolo Sorrentino, starring Sean Penn, will screen in The Eye Cinema on Thursday March 22 at 7pm.
This screening at The Eye is an advance screening and the Galway Advertiser has 10 pairs of tickets to give away to readers. The film goes on general release on Friday March 23
This oddball road movie with an emotional heart stars Oscar winner Sean Penn as Cheyenne, a middle-aged wealthy former Goth rock star now bored and jaded in his retirement, living off his royalties in Dublin.
Learning that his father is close to death, he travels to New York in the hope of being reconciled with him only to arrive too late. Only afterwards does Cheyenne learn that his father was in Auschwitz and suffered particular humiliation at the hands of SS Officer Aloise Muller.
His father was determined to avenge his humiliation and Cheyenne decides to carry on where his father left off. Doing so he begins a life altering journey into the heart of America and to decide if he seeks redemption or revenge.
