Grassroots to hold anti-household charge meetings in city and county

Four public meetings will to be held in Galway city and county as the part of the grassroots campaign against the Government’s household charge.

The meetings will take place in Ballinasloe, Salthill, Kinvara, and An Spidéal. The Salthill meeting takes place this evening at 8pm in Lonergan’s, Salthill, and is open to residents of Salthill, Bearna, Knocknacarra, Claddagh, and ‘The West’ area of the city.

The Ballinasloe public meeting will take place in Gullane’s Hotel this evening at 8pm and is open to residents of the town as well as those from Loughrea, Athenry, Monivea, Ahascragh, Mountbellew, Portumna, and surrounding districts.

Two public meeting have been called for Letterfrack and Williamstown while a further meeting has been organised for Johnston’s Hall in Kinvara on Monday at 9pm, and is also open to residents of Ballinderreen, Ardrahan, Gort, and environs. An Spidéal will host a public meeting on Tuesday. A venue has yet to be arranged.
