Canadian comic for the Róisín Dubh

ONE OF Canada’s most outspoken and hilarious comedians Dana Alexander, the Maple Leaf nation’s only black female comic, plays the Róisín Dubh on Wednesday at 8.30pm.

Originally from Edmonton, Dana began her comedy career at 18 and quickly became a regular fixture in Canadian comedy clubs, universities, and festivals. She was voted in the Best Discoveries category by Toronto’s renowned Now Magazine in 2006 and has since been included in its Best Of issues three years in a row, making her one of Canada’s hottest emerging young comedians. She has made numerous appearances on Canadian TV.

Dana’s comedic style is both refreshing and irreverent, drawing her material from her diverse lifestyle, her gay friends, and her Jamaican family.

Support on the night is from Keith Farnan, Neil Molloy, and Steve Bennett. Monty will be DJing afterwards. Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and www.roisindubh.net
