A Book of Evidence in the case of a Dublin lorry driver charged with dangerous driving which caused the death of a local woman last year is not yet ready, Galway District Court heard this week.
John Moore, 3 Hazelhatch Road, Newcastle, Dublin, is charged with dangerous driving which caused the death of Mrs Susan Dooley, at Carnmore West, Monivea Road, Galway, on February 22 last year.
He is further charged with intentionally or recklessly parking a heavy goods vehicle, while it was carrying a portacabin, which created a substantial risk of death or serious harm, and with having five excessively worn tyres fitted to the vehicle.
Moore first appeared before the court in May and the matter was adjourned to this week’s court for the preparation of a Book of Evidence.
However, Inspector Ernie White told the court this week that the Book was not yet ready and he applied to the court for a further adjournment.
Judge Eamon O’Brien adjourned the matter to July 28 next for service of the Book.
