All Galway businesses are asked to attend an information evening being held next week at which they will hear about how they can benefit from the Volvo Ocean Race Finale 2012 to be held in Galway from June 30 to July 8.
This is the opportunity for anyone in business in Galway to find out how to get involved in the event and how their business can benefit. When the Volvo Ocean Race held its stopover in Galway in 2009, the economic impact on Galway and Ireland was €55.8 million. That was a stopover during the race, this time we’re hosting the finale.
This information evening will give the business an overview on the event, on the Race Village, the Global Village, what is planned around the city and, most importantly, how business can become involved.
The Let’s Do It Global team, organisers of the Volvo Ocean Race Finale, will talk to Galway Businesses and answer questions relating to how you can get involved.
There will be short presentations by the Let’s Do It Global team and maps of the layout of the Race Village and the Global Village will be on display. The Global Village is a new addition this year and is a business to business initiative which will host may of the exciting events planned such as the welcome party for the final leg of the Volvo Ocean Race, a Fourth of July Party, a Celebration of Global Culture, an International Fashion Show and Speakers Platform, among others.
Questions about all of the above including how business can showcase product, be part of the entertainment and other programmes, will be answered and businesses can begin to prepare for what will be without a doubt, an amazing opportunity for Galway.
All businesses are urged to attend on Monday March 5 at 6 pm in Hotel Meyrick, Eyre Square.
