Nominate a teenager as Guest of Honour for the St Patrick’s Day Parade

The organisers of the St Patrick’s Day Parade are putting a call out to the people of Galway to nominate their Guest of Honour for this year’s Parade.

The organisers are looking for someone aged between 14 to 18 years who has accomplished something significant or extraordinary for themselves or others to lead the Parade on March 17.

“It is important to recognise the achievements of teenagers in our communities and provide an opportunity for a teenager who has shown courage, caring and commitment in their own lives or to others within the community,” said a spokesperson for the parade.

A judging committee with representatives from community groups and businesses has been put in place and will decide on the winner. To nominate your Teenager of the Year email your contact details, the name of the teenager, and the reason why you are nominating them to [email protected] and the closing date for nominations is Wednesday March 8.

The St Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Saturday March 17, beginning at 11.30am and finishing at 1pm.
