Change the way you see the world with Optilase

Have you ever thought about freeing yourself from the hassle of glasses and fiddly contact lenses and changing the way you see the world? Well, now is your chance to explore the possibilities of life-changing laser eye surgery by visiting Optilase in Shop Street for a open information evening tomorrow, February 24.

Located at the same premises as its sister company, the prestigious Therapie Clinic, the expert and friendly staff at Optilase will be rolling out the welcome mat between 4pm and 7pm, offering the general public the opportunity to ask questions and find out if laser eye surgery is the right choice for them. Optilase, Ireland’s leading laser eye surgery provider, has enjoyed much success in correcting the eyesight of thousands of its customers, success that has been continued by the clinic in Galway which first opened its doors in November last year.

Optilase offers a full range of the most advanced treatments and customised procedures including LASIK, LASEK, and IntraLase laser eye surgery as well as Premier and Advanced CustomVue WaveFront laser eye technology at competitive prices, with the added security of a lifetime care guarantee offered as standard with all treatments.

Taking your first steps with Optilase specialists could not be simpler. Galway Optilase optomitrist Fiona Lawless explains that customers can avail of free one-hour consultations during which all options are fully explained and an assessment is carried out to ensure that a particular procedure is suitable for the client’s needs. The procedure itself is carried out in the Optilase purpose built clinic in Dublin by a consultant ophthalmic surgeon. Following the procedure the post-op check-ups take place at the clinic in Galway.

“Everyone has questions they want to go through, about the procedure, and meeting with the surgeon. We go through all the different options, what would be best for them and best for their eyes. We try to minimise the amount of time a customer spends in Dublin. The following day, the person has a check-up in the Galway clinic. The prices range from €495 per eye, starting with a basic procedure suitable for relatively low prescriptions, to a maximum price of €1,600 per eye and includes all six check-ups and all the eye drops as well as the life time after-care guarantee.”

The Optilase clinic in Galway has proven to be extremely popular, despite the recession, as Ms Lawless explains: “A lot of people have been thinking about laser eye surgery for a long time so there has been plenty of interest. The way they look at it, once the procedure is done, they don’t have to spend money on glasses and contact lenses which can be very expensive. The technology has got so much better too. People are also so much more aware these days, most know someone who has had it done. The open evening will give those who have been thinking about it a chance to come in, have a chat with me and the girls and maybe book an hour long assessment if it interests them. We will talk them through the process, see if the person is 100 per cent suitable for the procedure, and answer any questions people may have.”

All are welcome to attend the open evening at Optilase where complimentary wine and canapés from Cava will be served.
