DruidMurphy tickets go on sale tomorrow

Tickets for the much-anticipated Druid production of DruidMurphy, where three of the celebrated Tuam writer’s plays will be performed by the acclaimed Galway city company, go on-sale tomorrow.

Tickets will be available from 1pm from the Town Hall Theatre through 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie and Druid is confident the plays will form one of the theatrical highlights of 2012, as well as being the largest touring project in Irish theatre this year.

DruidMurphy will see the company performing Murphy’s Famine, A Whistle in the Dark, and Conversations on a Homecoming, which together make an epic tale of emigration, spanning the era 1846 to 1980. The plays will be directed by Garry Hynes and will tour Ireland, Britain, and the US.

Galway audiences can see the production in the Town Hall Theatre, Galway from Wednesday May 23 to Saturday June 9 and from July 23 to 28 during the Galway Arts Festival. The Town Hall box office covers all these dates.

There will also be performances in Clifden from September 24 to 25, as well as Tuam and the Aran Islands. Tickets for these shows will be on sale later in the year.

The DruidMurphy schedule also includes single performances of each of the three plays and the possibility to experience the entire cycle over the course of a day.
