Public lecture on Pádraic Ó Conaire

The Galway City Museum will mark the 130th anniversary of the birth of Irish writer and journalist Pádraic Ó Conaire with a public lecture on his work this Saturday.

Dr Pádraigín Riggs of University College Cork, talks about the themes of exile and loss in Ó Conaire’s work. Although he is best known for his comic story M’Asal Beag Dubh, most of his stories are dark and pessimistic.
