Today is the closing date for nominations for Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, Galway’s bilingual business award, organised in association with the Galway Advertiser and with support from the Galway Chamber.

To ensure that your company or organisation does not miss out on a great opportunity to participate in this year’s award, gain valuable press coverage, increase your businesses profile, and be in with a chance to win a fantastic business package, make sure to complete the application form today on www.gleg.ie before 5.30pm.

You can nominate your own business or someone else’s business for the award. It is not essential to be a fluent Irish speaker to participate in this prestigious award. The aim of the award is to recognise companies and organisations in Galway city that demonstrate a visible, genuine, and creative use of the Irish language within their business, thus impacting on their staff and the bilingual image of the city.

The Gradam features a new structure for 2012, with four categories: retail, hospitality and tourism, services, and other companies. A winner will be chosen in each category and the overall winner will be selected from the four category winners. To support the new structure D’Arcy Marketing & PR and Fáilte Ireland have come on board. Údarás na Gaeltachta has also renewed its commitment to the Gradam for another two years and is sponsoring the replicas of the Gradam designed by the renowned artist Pádraic Reaney. They join an already established group of Galway sponsors including Galway Advertiser, Galway Chamber, Galway Bay FM, Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, NUI Galway, and Snap Galway. This year Gaillimh le Gaeilge is delighted to announce that the total value of the prizes and benefits provided by the local businesses is in excess of €19,000.
