New exhibition inspired by CIA experiments

PERFECT CONCUSSION (Watching You Dance ) is the title of a new multi-media show which opens in the Galway Arts Centre tomorrow.

The show has been created by the Cork artists collective Not Abel and will feature sculpture, sound, music, video, photography, and “recontextualised detritus”.

The Perfect Concussion takes its name from an abandoned CIA subproject which sought to cause brain concussions and amnesia by using weapons or sound waves to strike individuals. This in turn has led Not Abel to explore if a memory wipe ever be final, and the capacity of individuals to somehow dredge up memories triggered by an uncannily familiar sound, scent, or image.

Perfect Concussion (Watching You Dance ) runs until Saturday March 10.
