Earlier slot An Taobh Tuathail

AN TAOBH Tuathail, the underground music programme presented by Cian Ó Ciobháin on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, has moved to a new earlier time slot of 9pm.

An Taobh Tuathail is now on from 9pm to 11pm, Mondays to Fridays, while on May 1 the show will celebate its 13th birthday.

Cian Ó Cíobháin is hopeful the new earlier slot will introduce the programme to an even more listeners and music fans seeking out hard to find treasures.

“The tendency on radio stations is to push their non-commercial or ‘alternative’ shows later into the schedules,” he says. “RnaG is doing the opposite. Giving the show an earlier slot will open up the programme to a wider audience. My intention is to seek the good stuff and share it with music lovers every weeknight.”

An Taobh Tuathail features electronica, dream-pop, alt-folk, post-rock, neo-classical, soundtracks, house, techno, and bass.

Cian has put together four compilations of the best music played on ATT, three on CD and one as a download. An Taobh Tuathail Vol V will be released as a free download before the summer.
