MISTAKEN IDENTITIES, fairy folk playing pranks, romance, and mischief, and on this occasion, hippies and free love, all combine in Shakespeare’s wonderful A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
A Midsummer Nights Dream will be performed by the Galway Community College PLC students in the Druid Theatre on Wednesday February 8 and Thursday 9 at 8pm.
For this production, Shakespeare’s original language is maintained but the setting is transferred from Greece to San Francisco and Woodstock in the 1960s. Central characters are modelled on John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, and Twiggy.
