SHOW ME The Funny 2, the competition which seeks to unearth Irelands freshest and most original comedy talent, is back, starting this Monday at 8pm.
Show Me The Funny 2, in association with Bulmers, takes place in The King’s Head and will run for the next six weeks.
The first of five heats starts this Monday with the grand final on Monday March 5. At each heat, eight comedy hopefuls will do battle with two making it through to the final, where the eventual winner will win a slot at the Electric Picnic Comedy Stage.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for would-be and emerging comics to not only win this fantastic prize, but it also affords comics the chance to network with fellow would-be stars, exchange ideas, and get an insight into how the business works,” says competition organiser Gerry Mallon.
“There is an unbelievable number of really talented young comics out there and if the standard is anything like it was last year, then The King’s Head is the only place to be each Monday night.”
Each act will perform seven minutes of original material and a panel of judges, plus audience votes, will decide who goes through to the final. A special guest from the circuit will perform at each heat. This Monday’s guest will be Karl Spain
All shows will be compered by Gerry Mallon. Admission is €5 and includes a free pint of Bulmers.
