Over The Edge celebrates ninth birthday tonight

THE OVER The Edge readings celebrate nine years in existence tonight when it hosts Leanne O’Sullivan, Damian Cunniffe, and Dearbhaile Houston in the Galway City Library from 6.30pm.

Corkonian Leanne O’Sullivan has two collections of poetry - Waiting for My Clothes (2004 ) and Cailleach: The Hag of Beara (2009 ). In 2009 she was awarded the Ireland Chair of Poetry bursary; in 2010 she won the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature; and in 2011 received the Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Award for Poetry.

Damian Cunniffe, from Abbeyknockmoy, was longlisted for the Fish Publishing International Short Story Prize 2011 and was joint winner of the Lonely Voices Short Story Introductions competition. He is working on a play and a collection of short stories.

Dearbhaile Houston, from county Galway recently won the Seán Uí Riordáin prize for poetry in the Oireachtas na Gaeilge Literary Competition 2011.
