All hands on deck as BPW members row in behind Let’s Do It Global

With just 167 days until the Volvo Ocean Race hits Galway, DECLAN VARLEY brings you a weekly brief of what’s happening in sailing’s Everest.

BPW Galway (Galway and District Business & Professional Women’s Club ) is ‘rowing’ in behind Let’s Do It Global as it feels there is serious potential in 2012 with the arrival of the Volvo Ocean Race grand finale to showcase Galway.

Consequently, it is urging both professional and business women in the region to support local events, local enterprise and contribute to the growth of the city and the event.

For 2012, BPW Galway has put together a programme of events for 2012 which will showcase a variety of information and social events suiting all interests. The formal launch of the programme will take place on Monday January 30 in The Ardilaun Hotel when Let’s Do It Global will showcase what the arrival of the Volvo Ocean Race fleet for its ultimate finale will mean for Galway.

BPW President Michelle Murphy said ‘BPW is delighted to hold its programme launch in tandom with this presentation from Let’s Do It Global as it will inform those attending about the fantastic transformation our city is going to undertake in the coming months in preparation for welcoming thousands of visitors. It is important for both local and national clubs and organisations to support such a wonderful celebration.”.

BPW Galway continually supports local businesses when organising a range of information evenings and social outings for its members thus giving local businesses a chance to showcase what they have to offer – it is difficult to beat the service and attention you receive from our local businesses so why not support them.

It is by growing your own personal connections through becoming a member in an active club such as the BPW Galway that you get an opportunity to share experiences and listen to views from other members thus providing the perfect opportunity to spread the good news about what services and businesses are on our doorstep and help contribute to the local economy.

Internationally BPW has become one of the most influential international networks of business and professional women with affiliates in 80 countries in five continents. The ethos of BPW continues to be ‘to share, educate and give a voice’ and members of the club can benefit greatly from meeting other women and build up personal connections while also share experiences, receiving support from other members and having a voice locally.
