The annual general meeting of the Galway Tidy Towns takes place on Wednesday January 25 at 7pm in The Meyrick Hotel in Eyre Square.
Galway entered the competition in 2011 after a long absence and did well with the judges impressed by the committee and volunteer efforts on behalf of the city.
The Galway City Council, Galway Chamber of Commerce, Fáilte Ireland, The Latin Quarter, The West End Traders, Galway Harbour Board, Galway Volunteer Centre, and residents’ associations from Prospect Hill, Bohermore, College Road, will all be involved in this year’s effort.
“We all realise how important it is for our city to look its best,” said a spokesperson for the Tidy Towns Committee. “This makes Galway a great destination to visit, do business in, and to live and enjoy. Everyone can play a part and we look forward to seeing as many groups and volunteers on the night.”
