Priding itself on manufacturing top-quality kitchen, bedrooms, and sliding robes at competitive prices, Rite Price Kitchens has continued to grow from strength to strength and has now taken the step of extending its Galway showroom providing customers with even better choice and service.
With more than 13 years’ experience in the industry Rite Price Kitchens, a family run business wholly owned by Cherrymore Wholesale Kitchens, first came to Galway in 2006 bringing with it an extensive range of high quality products at the right price. Further reinforcing its commitment to customers in Galway and its surrounding hinterlands and demonstrating its continued success despite a difficult economic climate, Rite Price Kitchens invested approximately €35,000 into developing one of the best showrooms around. Not only is there an extra 2,000sqft for bedrooms and sliding robes but the refurbishment also provided the opportunity to create eight new kitchen displays allowing customers to visualise their renovation/new-fit plans. Rite Price Kitchens in Oranmore Business Park (located near the Maldron Hotel and City Limits ) will be launching their new and improved showroom on January 21 with an open day being held allowing the public to discover the quality products and great prices, and avail of some special offers on the day.
Area manager Brendan McLaughlin explained that despite its continued success Rite Price Kitchens - still known to those in the trade side of the business as Cherrymore - remains a family run business with co-directors Harry and Martin McLoughlin at the helm. Starting on the factory floor himself at a young age Brendan learned all the “ins and outs of the manufacturing process and selling” using this knowledge to help the company build up its reputation in Galway and enjoy continued expansion.
Reflecting back on the humble beginnings of Rite Price Kitchens Brendan explained that the company, known then as Cherrymore, started more than 13 years ago with just two staff in a 2,000sqft premises in Ballybofey, Co Donegal. Business grew bringing with it the need to move into a 10,000sqft premises which contained a showroom and manufactured kitchen and bedroom units to trade customers. The company soon saw the need to cater for retail customers with the result that Rite Price Kitchens was created, and in 2005 a showroom was opened in Tipperary followed by the first showroom in Galway in 2006. At the beginning of 2007 a €2 million investment was made in machinery and into moving all manufacturing into a 60,000sqft factory in Donegal town. Since that big move, the business has continued to grow with showrooms springing up in Castlebar, Limerick, Athlone, Donegal town, and by this coming February a showroom in Mullingar.
“Since 2005 we will have opened eight showrooms in just seven years,” said Brendan, who added that much of the company’s success is down to the fact that it manufactures all of its own products, allowing increased choice in design and lower pricing points. “We’re the only company that manufactures everything we sell - kitchens, bedrooms, and sliding robes. Because of this we are able to offer genuine value for money, top quality products at keen prices. Since the recession people have definitely been shopping around more, and they find that our products are not only cheaper - sometimes 30 to 40 per cent less than other products on the market - but of superior quality. The staff here [manager Joe King, Tracey Giles, Evelyn Barton, as well as three teams of fitters] also spend a lot of time with customers. When people come in the door, they can get a full design service. Because we manufacture our own products we can make any bespoke products at high quality. We are not restricted to standard products because we can make individual designs. Customers get a quote and a price/plan straight away so that they are not left waiting for a week. You can have a kitchen fitted within two to three weeks. When it comes down to value and quality, and service, we are very hard to beat. We also supply all the goods fully assembled and there is delivery straight from the factory to your home.”
Brendan continued: “The growing part of the business has been the sliding robes, and our displays of bedrooms has gone from four to 25 - that part of the business has been growing for the last three years along with the kitchens. We are now manufacturing 100 jobs a week, that allow us to benefit from bulk buying of raw materials which leaves the customer with competitive prices. For a long time Irish companies were not able to compete with imported products but we’ve been the exception to that since we started. We’ve always produced kitchens and bedrooms, but in January 2009 we branched out into sliding robes. We’re one of the few companies that has expanded through the recession. Now we have a new showroom here in Galway which is a worthwhile investment as we feel that the sales will increase in the sliding robes business. It also provides the customers with a more professional showroom, they are now able to see every colour we do on display and can actually see the vast range of products available. The extension also shows that we are committed to growing the business in Galway, it gives our customers assurances that we are here for the long term. Part of the service here is that customers receive a lot of after-sale care and advice and all are contacted to ensure that the job is finished properly. In my five years in Galway there has not been a customer yet that has not been satisfied, however, in the event that there was an issue this would be rectified within two to three days.”
The showrooms at Rite Price Kitchens is extremely spacious, displaying all manner of sliding robes, in a variety of colours, shapes, and sizes, perfect for even the most awkwardly shaped bedroom. From this month on, a new walk-in wardrobe system is available at very competitive prices - for example an eight feet walk-in system would cost in the region of €235. Rite Price Kitchen customers can choose from a variety of styles and designs in bedroom and kitchen units, many of which have been fully assembled in the showroom making the choice that bit easier. There is also a full range of kitchen and bedroom accessories available.
