Performing arts for children with Dramatastic

After a very successful season one Dramatastic will resume classes for season two from January 14. Dramatastic was established by Ciara Doyle (B Ed primary teaching, ALCM, LLCM, FLCM musical theatre, MA music education ) to make the performing arts accessible to children in Galway and give children the opportunity to develop confidence, make friends, and nurture their own talents in a safe and comfortable environment. With a maximum entry of 15 pupils per class, each child is guaranteed expert tuition.

A trained primary school teacher as well as a trained classical singer with the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Ciara Doyle studied musical theatre with the London College of Music (Thames Valley University ) and completed all three teaching diplomas as well as studying piano at all grades with the Royal Irish Academy. She recently completed a masters in music education at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, giving her all the natural talents and qualifications to teach every aspect of music, dance, and drama.

“I decided to set up my own stage school as I realised when teaching as a primary school teacher that my main interest was teaching music and drama,” Ms Doyle recalled. “The idea of multiple intelligences is something that interests me. I believe that music, drama, and dance should be recognised with the same respect as maths and literacy as these are all innate talents that we all possess, but we sometimes require a little encouragement to unleash them to their full potential. This is how I teach in my classes.”

Ciara Doyle is also choral master of the Menlo/Castlegar Children’s Choir and has been a performer in several theatre productions nationwide.

“The quality of Ciara’s work, dedication and commitment with the 40 children of the Menlo/Castlegar Children’s Choir is world class,” said Cathy Killeen, parent and Foróige leader.

Dramatastic is held in Galway city and Athenry on a termly basis. All classes are located in hotels and so children will be in a safe, secure, and warm environment. Fees are €60 for a six-week term and discounts are available where there is more than one child from the same family attending.

Contact Dramatastic to confirm your place as class sizes are small and therefore places are limited.
