HealthSET is a locally based healthcare training company specifically targeting new and existing carers. As a FETAC centre, HealthSET provides jobs information, professional career advice, and accredited FETAC courses to adults seeking work in the care sector.
The home care sector remains one of the growth areas in Ireland for employment with over 70 per cent of HealthSET students gaining employment on completion of a course. An increasing ageing population, along with Government strategy to keep older people in their homes, has led to an increasing demand for qualified carers. Coupled with this, HIQA legislation now requires carers to hold certified FETAC training to work with older people in Ireland.
‘Training to Employment’ is a core value at HealthSET with courses designed to prepare students with the necessary practical care skills and confidence to work in the sector. HealthSET students have access to an interactive educational forum, allowing new carers to network with each other, ask questions, and seek professional advice from experienced nursing staff. Courses currently on offer are FETAC Level 5 care of the older person, practical homecare skills, and health and safety at work.
