Supermac’s boss adds weight to GUST application

Galway businessman and sponsor Pat McDonagh of Supermac’s is throwing his weight behind the newly-formed Galway United.

The Galway United Supporters Trust (GUST ), which was due to meet FAI officials yesterday in a bid to secure a first division licence for 2012, has been boosted by McDonagh’s support.

“Gust has played a huge role in running Galway United to date ,” he said. “The passion and commitment shown by senior members of GUST during an extremely difficult period for the club cannot be understated.”

GUST PRO Vincent O’Connor said the group was delighted with McDonagh’s endorsement of its pplication for a licence for the Airtricity League.

“Supermac’s have supported all sporting codes in Galway at all levels in Galway, and have been the sponsors of Galway United FC since 2009 through Papa John’s Pizza.

“Galway United Supporters Trust thank Pat McDonagh for his support and encouragement for our vision of a community-based club representing Galway city and county, and we hope to continue to build our relationship during the 2012 season in the Airtricity League.”
