Galway swimmers enjoyed success at the recent Irish Short Course National Championships, breaking 15 Connacht records and winning nine National medals. Pick of the Galway Swimming Club performances came from Cian Duffy, who won a national title in the open men's 200metres individual medley, finished second in the 400 medley and third in the 100 medley.
Keena Walsh also claimed two bronze medals in the open women’s 100 and 200 metres breaststroke, while David O’Sullivan won a bronze medal in the open men's 50 metres butterfly. In the woman’s 4x100 medley and freestyle relays, the team of Dairne Ryan, Ruth Keogh, Katie McKnight and Keena Walsh finished second, and in the men's 4x100 medley the team of Cian Duffy, Kevin McGlade, David O’Sullivan and Conor Smyth finished in second place also.
