The Galway Walking Club has scheduled the first of its walks for the new year, details of which are now available on the website at: http://galwaywalkingclub.wordpress.com/proposedwalks/
The first of the “Rambles”, scheduled for January 1 2012, is the Cong Loop walk. This walk is a terrific way to start of the new year. The ramble is approximately 17km and takes the group through some lovely woodland before walking around the Clonbur area, which allows for fabulous views over the Corrib.
The club provides walks for all grades of walkers, the short walks are usually of two hours duration and the rambles typically take four and a half hours to complete.
Hill walks will be scheduled from February and the details of all grades of walks will be made available on the recently re-vamped website.
Please note that club membership is still open and new walkers are always welcome to join the club and attend the fortnightly meetings in Tonery’s Bar in Bohermore.
