Two men charged with following and then robbing a
trader during last year’s Continental Christmas Market pleaded not guilty at Galway District Court this week.
The court heard on Monday how Jamie Clune (34 ) with an address at 4 Bridge View, Roslevan, Ennis, Co Clare, and Justin Wynne (32 ) with an address at 59 John Coogan Park, Newcastle, have entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of robbing a man of €360 in cash at Woodquay, on November 21, 2010, contrary to Section 14 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud ) Act.
At a previous court sitting it was revealed that the Director of Public Prosecutions had consented to the matter being dealt with summarily in the District Court on a plea of guilty only.
Noting this, Judge Mary Fahy then further remanded Clune in custody with consent to bail as set by the High Court to appear again at Harristown District Court on January 6, 2012, for service of the book of evidence, while Wynne was remanded on continuing bail to Galway District Court on January 9, 2012, for service of the book of evidence.
