Three Limerick men sent for trial for burglary

Three Limerick men who carried out a serious burglary in Ballybrit on St Patrick’s Day this year have been sent forward for trial.

The Galway District Court heard that the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented to Stephen O’Sullivan (26 ) of 88 St Munchin’s Street, St Mary’s Park, Limerick, John Woodland (32 ) of 36 Maypark, Dooradoyle, Limerick, and Patrick Woodland (37 ) of Dunquin, Newcastle West, Limerick, being sent forward for trial to Galway Circuit Criminal Court commencing January 17, 2012.

All three men are charged with allegedly entering a building at Ballybrit as a tresspasser with the intention of committing theft, contrary to Section 12(1 )(b ) and (3 ) of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud ) Act 2001 on March 17, 2011.

Judge Mary Fahy granted the order for return for trial and remanded all three accused men on continuing bail to the next sittings of Galway Circuit Court.
