The Saw Doctors are going all out to make the Christmas No 1 in Ireland this year with the release of their version of ‘Downtown’ with Petula Clark.
The Christmas No 1 slot is the most lucrative and sought after spot for any single release and so the Docs will be vying against X-Factor winners Little Mix, crooner Michael Buble, teen sensation Justin Bieber, and maybe even Nirvana, if a Facebook campaign catches fire.
The Saw Doctors ‘Downtown’, featuring the song’s original singer Petula Clark, is released tomorrow as an MP3 download for 99c.
Collectors and hardcore Saw Doctors fans should note that a limited edition CD single, of which there will only be 1,000 copies, will be on sale from tomorrow in Zhivago, Shop Street, and HMV Galway, Edward Square, also for 99c.
