A new recording of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, featuring TDs and Senators, as well as the Dublin Gospel Choir and the Lucan Gospel Choir, has been released.
The charity single is available to download for €1.29 from iTunes and all proceeds will go towards raising funds for the suicide and self-harm crisis centre Pieta House.
Among those singing on the track is Athenry-based Labour senator Lorraine Higgins, who is calling on the public to help make the charity single the Christmas No 1 this year.
“With just a few more shopping days until Christmas, I am asking people to please buy a copy of ‘Bridge over Troubled Waters’,” she said. “Instead of the usual socks and chocolates for a loved one. Giving the gift of our single will also double as a donation to Pieta House.”
