The taekwon-do teaching team of Shane Fitzgibbon and Lisa Connolly have started new classes in south Galway. For those new to the art, taekwon-do is a Korean self defence system/martial art which provides numerous physical and mental health benefits. Fitzgibbon and Connolly have more than 30 years’ experience in the martial arts between them. They run the Connacht Taekwon-do Academy in Ballybane with classes for all age groups from age five upwards. Their committed teaching style has developed numerous European and World medallists, not to mention the many hundreds of students whose lives were enriched as a result of their positive experiences.
Sixteen-time world medallist and former Irish captain Fitzgibbon has just started teaching new classes in Ballindereen. After a very successful launch last week, he is happy to report that the classes are almost full. Current European Champion, Connolly has just started teaching a class for children aged five to six years at her school in Gort. The new class is proving very popular as she works on developing the basic co-ordination and movement abilities of the youngsters.
