The Galway Chamber of Commerce is calling on the public to do their Christmas shopping in Galway this year and thereby generate money for the local economy and protect local jobs.
The chamber has outlined five reasons as to why Galway should be a Christmas shopper’s destination: Galway is a great place to shop; Galway is a special Christmas shopping experience; Galway has everything you need – you don’t need to go anywhere else; retailers in Galway need your support; shopping in Galway will create new jobs and will save others at risk.
“We have to fight our corner and take our share of the market,” said Chamber CEO Michael Coyle. “This campaign is a step in the right direction. The previous ‘Sp€nd Christmas in Galway’ campaigns were very successful and from now until the end of the January sales we want to continue to heighten awareness of how good shopping in Galway is.”
