Occupy Galway will be host its third weekly social entertainment and information event this Saturday from 1pm to 6pm in Eyre Square.
The event is being held by the protest group to enable the public to find out about Occupy Galway’s aims and ideas. There will also be entertainment and Chai Tea and biscuits on offer for free.
At 1pm activities will kick off with music from a range of local musicians. At 3pm Aiden Killian, comedian, will perform a topical comedy set; at 4pm local campaigner Detta McLoughlin will outline the possible effects the Budget will have on local organisations; at 5pm Brendan Flynn, of the NUI Galway Political Science and Sociology Department, will discuss outcomes of the upcoming European Council meeting in Brussels. Projected short films will run throughout.
