POPULAR FRENCH actress Audrey Tautou and a classic film from Frank Capra will be screened by the Galway Film Society in the Town Hall Theatre this Sunday.
Audrey Tautou stars in Beautiful Lies (France, 2010 ), which will be shown at 8.15pm. This is a fresh and funny romantic comedy about a chatty hairdresser who concocts a plan to cheer up her mother who is devastated after having been left by her husband.
Earlier the same day, at 3pm, Frank Capra’s Pocketful Of Miracles (1961 ), starring Bette Davis and Glenn Ford, will be shown.
It features an apple seller who is helped by a gangster and his small-time hoodlums to pose as a high society lady when her long lost daughter returns from abroad. To accompany the film, there will be carol singing, spot prizes, and light refreshments ahead of the screening.
