ST NICHOLAS’ Collegiate Church will resound to the sound of Handel’s Messiah, when the celebrated work is performed there on Saturday December 10 at 7.30pm.
The Irish Baroque Orchestra and Resurgam, with acclaimed guest director Jeffrey Skidmore at the helm, along with soloists soprano Deirdre Moynihan, countertenor Stephen Wallace, tenor Eamonn Mulhall, and baritone Greg Skidmore, will perform Messiah.
Guest director Jeffrey Skidmore is one of Britain’s foremost choral conductors. He is a pioneer in the field of research and performance of neglected choral works of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Resurgam comprises some of Ireland’s finest singers, and the choir is well known for its presentation of the great sacred repertoire of the renaissance and baroque periods.
