Ford adds new 1.6 litre diesel to better value Mondeo

Ford Ireland tells us it has extended the Mondeo model line up, while a price realignment also sees prices reduced on a number of key models in the range.

From this month, a new low emission titanium eco 1.6 litre TDCi 115bhp model is added to the line up in four-door, five-door and estate versions. Delivering CO2 emissions of 114g/km, the new 1.6 litre Mondeo is placed in the lowest tax band A, with annual road tax of €104 per year. The new titanium 1.6 litre TDCi is available from €29,995 ex-works.

The price realignment on the Mondeo range will mean savings of up to €750 on some models, according to a Ford spokesman. For example, the entry-level Mondeo four-door eco 1.6 litre TDCi 115bhp is now priced from €25,745 ex-works, a saving of some €750. And at the higher end of the model line up, the Mondeo titanium five-door 2.0 TDCi 140PS sees its recommended pricing fall by €630, to €32,445 ex-works.

“The Mondeo is a key model in our line up and we feel that the broadening of the range and the price realignment will make the nameplate more competitive on the marketplace,” says Eddie Murphy, managing director of Ford Ireland.

“When taken with our current four-year warranty, roadside assistance and servicing offer, it makes Mondeo a very compelling choice. For anyone thinking of buying a car in this key segment, we would recommend they drop into one of our dealers to find out more.”
