Zumbathon — the mega zumba fitness party this weekend

Zumbathon 2011 will be held on Sunday November 27 at St Marys College, Galway from 12-3pm (registration from 11.30am ). For anyone who hasn't heard of Zumba, it is a Latin dance fitness programme created originally in Columbia during the 1990s and is a fun way to fitness.

The Zumbathon is the brainchild of Yeliz Royle, who herself teaches Zumba in Moycullen and Galway city. Many of Irelands equally talented Zumba instructors, including dancer Heather Gordon, whose professional career includes Lord of the Dance and Gaelforce will be leading this three-hour Zumba jamming dance party.

The Zumbathon will also include a demonstration by Galway’s very own belly dancers, a performance of Capoeira style dancing (a Brazillian art form that combines elements of martial arts, sport and music ) and a Burlesque demonstration.

Zumbawear Ireland will have a stall with the latest creations of Zumbawear. The event will also include a raffle, with many great prizes to be won.

Admin €15. For tickets contact Yeliz on 085-7141635 or [email protected] All proceeds from the event will go to Down Syndrome “Voices for Galway”. A local charity, dedicated to the provision of speech and language therapy for children with Down Syndrome in the Galway community.

Join this fun filled Latin inspired dance workout and help raise money for a great cause.
