Emigration is one of the major themes of Irish folksongs, and the origins and stories behind those songs will form a concert and talk at the Galway City Museum.
The great folk-singer John Faulkner will present The Parting glass: Songs Of Emigration and their Stories in the museum this Saturday at 3pm.
John, best known for his work with De Danann and Dolores Keane, will perform a variety of the songs and discuss the ideas and stories behind them. The concert is free and all are welcome.
