Ros Muc woman is NUIG’s sean-nós dancer in residence

Ros Muc’s Róisín Ní Mhainín has been appointed sean-nós dancer in residence for 2012 at NUI Galway’s Centre for Irish Studies.

Róisín is regarded as a leading exponent of contemporary sean-nós dance and she has enjoyed success at various Oireachtas festivals. She has performed on Between the Jigs and the Reels and in The Well in Vicar Street, and at the Milwaukee Festival.

As part of her residency, Róisín will participate in a series of performances throughout the year and will give a series of sean-nós dance workshops at NUIG. The workshops will be open to the public and commence in January 2012.
