Double win for Galway city stores in National Daybreak Competition

Jason Henchy’s Daybreak in Eyre Square and Arthur McGuire’s Daybreak in Raven Terrace were both proud winners at the 2011 Daybreak Store of the Year awards, which were held recently in the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny.

Henchy’s Daybreak was announced as the winner of the 2011 ‘Best Food to Go category’ award for their outstanding standards and quality upheld at their in-store Deli. The store has become famous locally for their tasty hot and cold food, catering all tastes, from delicious freshly made sandwiches, in-store cooked pizzas and wide range of freshly prepared take home dinners.

They have also built up a strong reputation for great quality and value food to go with extra late opening hours ideal for their location on Eyre Square.

Speaking at the awards ceremony Jason Henchy commented ‘Winning this award for the stores ‘Food to Go’ offering is outstanding and a testament to the hard work and care our staff put into the in-store deli’.

Another big winner on the night was Arthur McGuire’s Daybreak for ‘Best Wine Category’. Mr McGuire and his team won this award as a result of the extensive wine range they offer there customers, ensuring they go the extra mile to cater to their customers needs and provide the best tips on what compliments each wine they stock.

After winning the award Mr McGuire said ‘Our team worked hard all year to win this award, and tonight’s success underpins their dedication to providing our customers with both a high standard store environment and outstanding service.
