With only five and a half weeks to go until the big day, many companies will have already have plans for their Christmas party complete. Others will only be embarking on the job, but fear not, there are loads of easy options for businesses of all sizes.
Regardless of where you work, whether it is a small business or a large corporation, a Christmas party is a must-have as a reward for the year’s hard work. If it is a small business your budget for the party may not be able to cover a big party in a hotel, so a small gathering in a restaurant would be more appropriate. On the other hand, large companies would need a hotel to provide everyone with food and entertainment and therefore they would need to have a bigger budget.
Smaller business may like to go out for a meal, perhaps in a Chinese, Italian, Indian or other restaurant. Pick a venue that will be decorated for the Christmas season and will have a variety of foods to please everyone's taste. You could also bring along some Christmas crackers to pull with colleagues, and ask the restaurant to play some Christmas songs to help bring out the Christmas cheer in everyone. Other ideas for a party in a restaurant would be to exchange gifts by doing a secret Santa, and to play party games.
Smaller businesses could also have caterers come into the office and prepare food for everyone. Everyone in the workplace could help with decorating the office and staff could bring in CDs to play.
Larger businesses would usually go for a meal in a hotel and have some live entertainment such as a band. Why not spice things up a little by having a mulled wine reception at the hotel? Mulled wine is generally associated with Christmas and it will help people to kick back and relax and get in the mood for the merry season.
Where you decide to have your Christmas party is important as it will need to be suitable to cater for the number of people in your workplace, so book soon to avoid disappointment.
Small businesses may even prefer to scratch the traditional Christmas party of a sit-down meal and do something different, such as going for a speedboat ride. A committee could be set up to take charge of ideas for the party. The more people involved, the more ideas you can come up with.
