Mr Mac Con Iomaire has spent more than 15 years working in the media. He started working with TG4 in 1996 and subsequently spent time working as a journalist with Independent Newspapers. He also worked as editor with Eircom website Cumasc; as Dublin correspondent for Foinse; and as a contributor to The Irish Times, Magill, and the BBC.

In 2002 he returned to work in the TG4 newsroom, and in 2007 he was appointed Local Government correspondent with Nuacht RTÉ/TG4. He lives in An Cheathrú Rua and is married with two children.

Welcoming his appointment, Edel Ní Chuireáin, Ceannaire of RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, said Rónán “has a clear vision for Raidió na Gaeltachta, together with an excellent understanding of public service broadcasting”.
