New novel from Pádraig Standún to be launched

THE NEW novel by Pádraig Standún, I gCóngar i gCéin, will be launched at an event in Connemara tomorrow evening.

The novel will be launched by journalist Bernie Ní Fhlatharta in Áras Shorcha Ní Ghuairim, Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, Roisín na Mainiach, Carna, at 7pm.

A thriller, I gCóngar i gCéin follows the fledgling romance between two Irish people abroad, one of whom has a violent past that refuses to go away.

Pádraig Standún was born in Castlebar in 1946 and he has been a Catholic priest in An Cheathrú Rua, the Aran Islands, Tourmakeady, and Carna. He is the author of the play Stigmata, while film maker Bob Quinn based his film Budawanny (1987 ) on Standún’s first novel, Súil le Breith.
