The provision of arts grants to a wide selection of the city’s arts groups was announced at Monday evening’s Galway City Council meeting.
A provision of €430,000 was made toward the development and enhancement of the arts community. In total 93 groups applied for funding with 80 of them receiving grants from €500 to €48,000.
The biggest beneficiaries this year included Druid with €30,000, Galway Arts Festival with €48,000, Cúirt €13,000, Galway Arts Centre €19,000, Galway Music residency €25,000, Macnas €33,000, Galway Film Fleadh €16,000, and Galway Film Centre with €16,000
