EVERY YEAR, more than 600 teenagers from more than 60 Chicago schools gather for the world’s largest youth poetry slam - Louder Than a Bomb.
In 2008, the lead up to that year’s event was filmed by Greg Jacobs and Jon Siskel, producing the movie, also titled Louder Than a Bomb, which will be shown in NUI Galway’s Huston School of Film and Digital Media tomorrow at 8pm.
The film chronicles the stereotype-confounding stories of four teams as they prepare for and compete in the event. It is a film about passion, competition, teamwork, the joy of being young, speaking out, finding your voice, being creative and slamming.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
