Everybody get Footloose

KEVIN BACON had the moves and Kenny Loggins had the song, but Performing Arts School Galway will also “kick off the Sunday shoes” when they stage Footloose: the Musical.

Footloose: the Musical will be staged in the Town Hall Theatre from Thursday November 24 to Saturday November 26 at 7.30pm, including a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm.

Based on the 1984 film which launched the careers of Kevin Bacon, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Jon Lithgow, Footloose tells the story of Ren, who comes to the small town of Bomont, breaks its taboos and brings dance and laughter back to a town weighed down by the memory of a tragedy.

The cast of Footloose comprises 150 students from the Performing Arts School Galway, who had Adam Booth, who played Ren in the British stage production of Footloose, give a workshop to the cast.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
